Shri Suman W M Sivachar IFS

Shri Suman W M Sivachar is an Indian Forest Service officer of the 2013 batch, allocated to the Nagaland cadre. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Security from the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bangalore. He also holds an Honours Diploma in Forestry from the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun.

Prior to joining the Indian Forest Service, Shri Sivachar worked in the software industry from 2007 to 2012 as a software developer and freelance consultant, gaining valuable experience in technology and systems development.

Since January 2016, Shri Sivachar has been serving in various capacities across Nagaland. He began his career as Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), Naginimora, under the Mon Forest Division. He later served as ACF attached to the Divisional Forest Officer, Mon; Wildlife Warden, Kiphire Wildlife Division; and Deputy Conservator of Forests attached to the Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland, Dimapur.

Currently, he serves as the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Wokha Forest Division, with additional charge of DFO, Doyang Plantation Division. His work is marked by a commitment to innovation, conservation, and community engagement.

In recognition of his dedication and outstanding contributions to the department, Shri Sivachar has been selected for the Governor’s Gold Medal (2025).

ABOUT THE DIVISION

Wokha Forest Division was established on 9th Jul 1984, with administrative jurisdiction of 17 villages in district of Wokha and 3 villages in the district of Zunheboto surrounding the Doyang Reservoir, Wokha. It consists of Doyang Afforestation Range.
